As Android device manufacturers get more up to date with the latest versions of Android, they publish updated lists of devices that already have or will be getting the updates.  I’ve taken a copy of them right here so you good folks can have a good look.  Please note these are just for consumer devices, rugged suppliers don;t tend to get involved with updates like this.

Google Nexus

As expected, Google’s own brand, Nexus are getting all the latest updates as long as they’re in the past few years.

• Nexus 6P
• Nexus 5X
• Nexus 6
• Nexus Player
• Nexus 9 LTE
• Nexus 9 WiFi
• Nexus 5
• Nexus 7 2013 both editions

It’s very likely that the top few of the list above will be getting Android Nougat as soon as it’s released

HTC has vastly improved its update frequency in recent years and confirmed that a lot of their devices will be getting updates to Android Nougat, although dates for this have not been published as yet. Every HTC One type device from the past couple of years will be receiving updates for full Marshmallow soontoo.

• HTC 10 (right out the box)
• HTC One M8
• HTC One M9+
• HTC One E9+
• HTC One E9
• HTC One ME
• HTC One E8
• HTC One M8 EYE
• HTC Butterfly 3
• HTC Desire 826
• HTC Desire 820
• HTC Desire 816

Not known for updating particularly fast, the following Samsung devices have been confirmed an upgrade to Android Marshmallow already.

• Galaxy S5
• Galaxy S5 LTE-A
• Galaxy S5 neo
• Galaxy S6
• Galaxy S6 Edge
• Galaxy S6 Edge+
• Galaxy Note 4
• Galaxy Note Edge
• Galaxy Note 5
• Galaxy Tab S2

Nothing right now about Nougat, but expect the same kind of time scales and device depth on that.

Motorola’s Marshmallow update list includes quite a bit below.

• 2015 Moto X Pure Edition (3rd gen)
• 2015 Moto X Style (3rd gen)
• 2015 Moto X Play
• 2015 Moto G (3rd gen)
• Moto E (2015)
• 2014 Moto X Pure Edition in the US (2nd gen)
• 2014 Moto X (2nd gen) in Latin America, Europe and Asia
• 2014 Moto G and Moto G 4G LTE (2nd gen)
• DROID Turbo (the one and only)
• Moto Turbo
• 2014 Moto MAXX

LG’s marshmallow updates go quite deep into the history of its range for Marshmallow.

• LG G5 (immediate)
• LG G4
• LG G3
• LG G Stylo
• LG V10
• LG V Pad X
• LG Spirit and Magna

The small but distinguished OnePlus range are all getting Marshmallow, not sure yet about Nougat.

OnePlus 2
OnePlus One

last but not least, Sony’s are going to be busy with an extremely deep list of Xperia devices that’ll be getting Marshmallow.

• Xperia Z5
• Xperia Z5 Compact
• Xperia Z5 Premium
• Xperia Z4 (tablet)
• Xperia Z3+
• Xperia Z3
• Xperia Z3 Compact
• Xperia Z3 (Tablet) Compact
• Xperia Z2
• Xperia Z2 (Tablet)
• Xperia M5
• Xperia C5 Ultra
• Xperia M4 Aqua

Every device above has either already received Android 6.0 Marshmallow or, according to Sony, will soon.

So there we go, I think this means that the bulk of devices we all know and use will probably already be on Marshmallow or getting it by the the end of the year and many of the above will be slated to get Nougat when it comes out or soon after too.
