Trimble Juno T41 and Changes at Trimble

Wow it’s all product changes at the moment, we promise to get back to some decent blogging very soon!  However we couldn’t let the week go by without a quick announcement about the Trimble Juno T41.

Trimble Juno T42,A spec to love…

The Juno T41 spec is something to behold and includes:

  • 800Mhz or 1GZ CPU
  • 256 or 512 MB Ram
  • 8 to 16GB ROM.
  • 8MP camera
  • 3.75G with voice.
  • Bluetooth, Wifi B,G,N
  • 4.3″ Capacitive LCD with Gorilla glass
  • GPS
  • IP65 or IP68 design

The new Fully Rugged PDA comes in the usual choice of colour, but also has a choice of operating system too with WEH 6.5 or Rugged Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread!

Add to this the spec includes all the little “Trimble” things that Trimble users like.  An MCX port for an external GPS antenna, micro SD card slot and all the Trimble applications and accessories to keep you moving.

The price to pay…

So a great little Rugged PDA but like everything it has its drawbacks, the first of which is price.  Even buying the base spec T41, you;re not going to get much change from £1000 with the higher specs with the higher spec devices coming in at about £1350-£1400.  We’re not sure what the term “smartphone value” means in the spec sheet at these prices and especially in Android guise, there’s a lot to choose from out there with better service and support for under £400 including built-in scanner options.

Price aside though, the Trimble Juno T41 will be dependable and well-built but will it cut it in what has already become a choice driven market sector?  We’ll spill the beans when we get a demo device soon (We’re saving up now!!!)
